A Letter From Our Executive Director

Welcome to our newly designed website rollout, and thank you for supporting the council.

Our mission has always been to represent groups throughout Florida by addressing gaps in the food system. However, as an organization, we experienced an internal shift, caused simultaneously by the pandemic and social and racial injustice. As an organization, we needed to take a step back and figure out who we were, who we want to be, and how to get there. In order to do this, we took a hard look at our vision, mission, values, and goals.  We have spent this time traveling the State, meeting with our members and hosting listening sessions to hear the needs and concerns from members around the State,  So, as a Board we decided to pause our regular programming (monthly newsletters, Florida Food Forums, and events) to give us time to solidify our vision for moving forward. So, over the next few months, we will slowly restart regular programming while solidifying our objectives and activities under our goals and finally rolling all of this out to the community. One of our objectives is to create and facilitate spaces where difficult topics surrounding food and justice issues can be discussed openly. Stay tuned!
